BUYING EXECUTIVE (MUST HAVE AN UNIVERSITY DEGREE) CAPE TOWN

SUMMARY:
QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s degree required (Preferable post-graduate degree in business) • 8+ years’ experience in a high-performance environment • 4+ years managerial experience

POSITION INFO:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

• You will be responsible for managing a team of category buyers
• Develop a comprehensive strategy/plan to drive growth across the departments in brands, suppliers, and new product selection
• Manage the execution against this plan and ensure teams prioritise strategic objectives
• Manage team against key financial and service level performance indicators within the department (sales, margin, rebates, listings availability, stock cover etc.)
• P&L management
• Develop range, forecast, and stock management methodology to drive efficiencies within supply chain whilst maintaining and growing product selection
• Build & foster new and current supplier relationships, improve service level agreements, and manage the team to deliver on stronger negotiations
• Identify and execute on performance/business growth initiatives
• Motivate and professionally develop your team, while ensuring appropriate succession planning
• Manage site-merchandising and work with the marketing team to develop promotional strategies for the division

 QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree required (Preferable post-graduate degree in business)
• 8+ years’ experience in a high-performance environment
• 4+ years managerial experience
• Experience in building, managing, and developing teams
• Strong competency in analytical tools 
• Smart, analytical thinker
• Energetic, dynamic individual - can-do attitude, self-motivated 
• Results oriented - Proven track record of delivering exceptional results
