BUYER - LADYSMITH
POSITION INFO:
The Buyer will be reporting into the Procurement Manager and will be responsible for the procurement of quality goods and services at the best price and delivery times from approved sources. The buyer will be requesting quotations, preparing bids, evaluating proposals, reviewing specifications, making recommendations, processing Purchase Orders (PO’s), negotiating commercial contracts, following up on deliveries, liaising with finance and supporting the BEE activities in order to meet the company’s overall objectives and ensuring compliance to systems and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
ØWorking on the various tasks related to the Procurement BEE scorecard, including supplier development.
ØRequest quotations from suppliers according to the specification.
ØGenerate PO’s in SAP and send to suppliers once approved.
ØExpediting of orders, current and outstanding orders to obtain on time delivery.
ØDraw up Invitation to tender documents and control tender process.
ØConduct market research for new suppliers that add value and can fulfil requirements.
ØSetting up and negotiating contracts for products and services (duration, prices, payment terms, penalties etc.)
ØContribute to the purchasing administration tasks – spend reporting, projections etc.
ØAd-Hoc Purchasing functions.
REQUIREMENTS:
ØDegree or Diploma in Supply Chain/ Engineering.
ØA minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in purchasing, negotiations and office administration.

ØMS Office with Advanced Excel skills
ØSAP MM Module
