SUMMARY:
A wholesale and retail company requires an experienced Industrial Hardware Buyer to perform the full function of Buying of all Industrial Hardware related products and service a multi branch network.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

**Candidates who have experience in other industries will not be considered for the position. **

Qualifications:

Grade 12 / equivalent
A completed degree or diploma in Purchasing will be and added advantage

Experience and requirements:

5 or more years’ recent experience as an Industrial Hardware Buyer within a large organisation with a multi branch network. (Welding equipment and accessories, grinding equipment, gate motors and accessories, industrial fasteners, industrial paint, locks, electrical tools relating to steelwork
Strong product sourcing and negotiating skills
Advanced computer skills on Syspro (or a related ERP System) and Excel “V- Lookup”
Reside on the East Rand
Have reliable transport
Bilingual in English and Afrikaans
A stable work record and contactable references
Sound product knowledge: Industrial Hardware and DIY related products
Able to work independently and under pressure
Strong buying, sourcing, and negotiating skills
Maintain accurate records and assist with admin related duties
Set and control budgets and targets per supplier
Conduct market research
Negotiate rebates
A strong personality and able to work long hours when required
Deal with queries (investigate and solve)
