About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced
BIM Coordinator to support the coordination and quality of 3D engineering models across multidisciplinary projects.
Working closely with the BIM Manager and engineering teams, you will play a key role in
model integration, clash detection, BIM/CAD standards compliance and technical coordination, ensuring accurate, consistent and reliable project deliverables.
This position is ideal for a technically strong draughting professional with experience in
structural and mechanical draughting who enjoys working with advanced 3D modelling technologies and coordinating complex engineering designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and integrate 3D models across Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Process and EC&I engineering disciplines.
- Perform clash detection, model reviews and coordination checks using Autodesk Navisworks and other approved software.
- Identify, record and track design clashes and model inconsistencies through to resolution.
- Support implementation of BIM standards, templates, workflows and BIM Execution Plans (BEPs).
- Conduct model quality checks and ensure compliance with project specifications and documentation requirements.
- Coordinate model exchanges, revisions and information management within the Common Data Environment (CDE).
- Provide practical BIM/CAD software support and guidance to engineers and draughting teams.
- Assist with model-based deliverables, project reviews and handover documentation.
Minimum Requirements
- Technical Draughting Certificate from a recognised institution.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in structural and mechanical draughting.
- Practical experience in BIM coordination, multidisciplinary 3D modelling and clash detection.
- Working knowledge of relevant software, including:
- Autodesk Revit
- Autodesk Inventor
- Autodesk Navisworks (Freedom / Manage)
- Autodesk Plant 3D
- IronCAD
- Understanding of BIM standards, model coordination procedures, BEPs and quality control processes.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and construction documentation.
- Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving and organisational skills.
