Azure Cloud Architect

We provide exceptional cloud architecture, software design, and development services to our clients. Whether they need a custom-developed solution, a special skill set for a one-time project, or they want to enhance their in-house IT team.

We are looking for a specialist cloud infrastructure architect. You will need general understanding of cloud solutions, application, and data architectures, with a deep understanding of networking and infrastructure for cloud architectures. This role will primarily focus on Azure; however, our business division is cloud agnostic, thus experience with AWS will be beneficial.

You will work on cloud migration and modernization projects for mid to large IT landscapes as well as help with solutions proposals for new clients. You will also help with architecture compliance and standards reviews and requirements management as part of project delivery and ongoing architectural support for clients.

It would be expected of you to:

•Document, define, design, and govern cloud architecture landscapes.
•Define the planned operation and maintenance of the solution within a production environment — including changes to services, process, organisation, and operating models as well as technology
•Ensure that existing and planned solution components are compatible with relevant architectures, strategies, policies, standards and practices
•Consider requirements for security, privacy and testing of solutions
•Develop roadmaps to migrate components to cloud services
•Develop and communicate an implementation roadmap
•Provide guidance and risk-based governance to support solution implementation including managing requests for changes and deviations from specifications"
•Maintain and enhance the IT infrastructure and infrastructure components, including task automation via tools and coding
•Build and manage systems and components in virtualized and cloud computing environments
•Maintain the Dotcom group Architecture Repository (Blueprints, Artifacts, Reference Material, Standards)
•Leads the development of architectures for complex solutions ensuring consistency with agreed requirements.
•Establishes policies, principles and practices for the selection of solution architecture components.
•Manages trade-offs and balances functional, service quality and systems management requirements within a significant area of the organisation. Communicates proposed decisions to stakeholders.
•Coordinates and manages the target architecture across multiple projects or initiatives. Maintains a stable, viable architecture and ensures consistency of design and adherence to appropriate standards across multiple projects or initiatives.
•Leads the preparation of technical plans and ensures that appropriate technical resources are made available. Ensures that appropriate tools and methods are available, understood and employed in architecture development.

Although not required, it will be of benefit to us if you have any of the following certifications and experience:

•TOGAF 9.2
•Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
•AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional

Experience required:

•Designing and implementing event driven-driven architectures, CQRS architectures, microservices, etc
•Experience modernising architectures to maximise cloud benefits by leveraging cloud-native services
•Experience with hybrid cloud and multi-tenant architectures
•Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Service Fabric, and App Services, DevOps
•Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation)
•Any Cloud Engineering and DevOps experience
