SUMMARY:
Our Company is looking for a skilled and motivated individual to develop the most innovative, cost-effective, and reliable electrical interconnection designs possible.

POSITION INFO:

Develops and maintains cable/wire harness schematic designs.

Analyses results and performs design reviews.

Works with hardware engineering teams and suppliers to obtain harness-relevant data

Applies and documents processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities.

Create and maintain 2D Drawings

Ensure DT is translated to Schematics and 2D drawing.

Creating and maintaining product and system level wiring diagrams and schematics.

Develop basic statements of work.

Analyse functional and physical input to assure the development of the complete integrated design.

Develop, maintain, and release electrical/mechanical drawings, systems designs, or engineering documentation and data.

Use design tools to prepare documentation and incorporate design changes.

Create, develop, and maintain systems designs by preparing design layouts, modifying existing designs, and assisting in identifying design discrepancies.

Lead, develop, and maintain cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs.

Supply input data (connector info and dimensions) to develop jig boards.

Develop and make test boards for sign off by quality – master board, replica and engineering sample.

Design to significantly reduce mass and volume/space and to optimize wire bundle routing in the vehicle, minimize NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness), prevent possibility of moisture ingress/damage

Select wire to terminal crimp combination

Work with schematic and mechanical team to develop harness portioning based on best practices and to ease general assembly process

Work with mechanical engineering teams on harness drawings, solving package issues and finalizing connector selection

Maintaining a database/library of terminals, connectors, cables, wires, and harness-related mechanical components per customer

Verifying final pinout of system components and connectors with vendor datasheets, reviewing schematics.

Importing or creating KBL files into the harness design tool and modifying designs as required.

Implement and conduct data quality checks

Work with Schematic engineers to configure harness variants for multiple programs and vehicle variants and a variety of different test bench designs

Work with tool suppliers on integrations to streamline the processes and to improve harness data quality

Work with Quality Engineers on incoming quality checks and harness rework activities

Work with supplier change management and implementation process

Create rework instructions as an intermediate action and provide a permanent resolution

Highlight design concerns (such as high insertion force on connectors, grommet installation, and sealing issues) or reliability concerns on detailed design features and drive the solution progress to remove these concerns through weekly tests, follow-ups, upper management deep-dive reviews, and cross-functional team reviews.

Participates in technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection.
