SUMMARY:
Our international client is looking for an Automation Technician to join their operations in Qatar. The Successful candidate will report to Automation Supervisor.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Purpose
Carry out the corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance activities for various automation systems in company plants, workshops, and offsite facilities in accordance with established schedules to achieve effective functionality, reliability and efficiency in accordance with standard operating procedures, HSEQ guidelines and quality standards.

Key Accountabilities

Maintenance
  • Carry out maintenance on variety of complex automation systems such as calibration of transmitters, switches, control valves, analyzers, fire and gas detectors, cleaning of instrument in line with defined work orders, schedules and HSEQ guidelines.
  • Measure voltage, current, resistance and all other electrical parameters as and when required in line with defined procedures.
  • Check all security systems and related alarms including troubleshooting and diagnose routine breakdowns to facilitate timely corrective actions.
  • Check the necessary stock levels of spare parts while storing them correctly to support effective inventory control.
  • Arrange and maintain work tools in good condition and obtain the necessary material for the tasks to be performed.
  • Carryout preventive maintenance activities according to defined schedules in order to facilitate uninterrupted operations.
  • Participate in the shut down operations as per defined procedures and standards and in line with HSEQ guidelines
  • Attend to plant emergencies under the direction of the Auto. Supervisor.
  • Give work directions to contractors' work personnel for necessary maintenance and installation works as directed and required by the supervisor and validate that work is performed according to the company's standards and specifications.
  • Maintain logbook on maintenance tasks carried out in order to facilitate timely information availability and ready referencing.
Housekeeping
  • Clean the area on which maintenance were carried out to ensure that debris is disposed of in a timely manner and health and safety risks are minimized.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
  • Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Statements and Reports
  • Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate departmental statements and reports to meet and department requirements, policies and standards.
Quality, Health, Safety & Environment
  • Ensure all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental procedures, instructions and controls are adhered to so that the safety of employees, quality of products/services and environmental compliance can be guaranteed.
  • Conduct observations on unsafe/safe acts, and report in a timely manner.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Technical certificate in Automation/Electrical maintenance
  • 3 years’ overall relevant experience in maintenance, preferably in oil/gas processing and
  • production plant environment.

Job-Specific Skills (Generic/Technical)
  • Knowledge of all relevant plant and equipment.
  • Practical knowledge of Automation maintenance principles.
  • Knowledge of the operations in petrochemical plants and of company operations and products
