Auto Electrician

SUMMARY:
A leader within the mining industry seeks to employ an Auto Electrician to join their successful team

POSITION INFO:

Qualification

• Matric
• Must have an Auto Electrician Trade Certificate (Section 13/26/28)

Requirements

• Knowledge and understanding of CAT (Dozers, Graders, FEL) VOLVO (ADT) and Hitachi (Excavators)
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience on earth moving machines
• Must be able to work on SIS (CAT) and PROSIS (VOLVO) programs
• Code 8 Driver’s license

Duties

• Testing and replacing faulty alternators, generators, starter motors and related items such as voltage regulators and batteries.
• Test repaired parts/ vehicles for safety – Using special tools to ensure proper operation.
• Work with computer-controlled engine management systems/ other systems.
• Service identifies and repair faults on electronically controlled machines such as electronic field systems, electronic gear selection/ air-conditioning / monitoring and safety systems.
• Installing of electrical components such as gauges, lights, radios, alternators, starter motors, wiring looms.
• Use of meters, diagnostic instruments and laptops to find electrical faults.
• Solder or weld when repairing electrical parts.
• Sell and install electrical parts and accessories.
• Repair and service air conditioning systems.
