Manage and run Audit team.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client, a medium sized Accounting and Audit firm in the lovely Somerset West, close to shops, gym and upcoming residentials, seeks an Audit Supervisor to join their team.  This team services a variety of industries and sectors. The role suits a well-rounded candidate who is a team player and takes pride in all they do, is organised and enjoys mentoring trainees!

Responsibilities:

  • Manage audits, preparing audit budget, oversee auditing work and finalise audits
  • Calculate tax efficient structures for clients
  • Draft financial statements
  • Team management ensuring work allocation, reviewing trainee's work and provide training
  • Maintain productivity
  • Manage a portfolio of clients, industries such as estate agents, attorney trust accountants, body corporates etc.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a completed Honours degree in Accounting/ CTA and completed SAICA articles, with about 1 year post articles experience
  • Must have excellent knowledge of relevant audit standards, Companies Act, VAT Act, Income Tax Act, IFRS for SME's
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to direct and lead an audit team well
  • Excellent communication skills, incl. very good command of Afrikaans (speaking) - this is essential
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, ensuring deadlines are well executed
  • Team player, who is self-driven with a positive attitude
  • Keen interest in mentoring trainees
