The MBChB Program Coordinator will be responsible for the management of the pre-clinical and clinical training programs; the planning and coordinating of academic, operational and financial activities; the development, implementation and ongoing compliance with the Medical Program''s goals and objectives, as well as to monitor and bring to attention any national requirements in terms of clinical training at the Medical School and at the Public Health Facilities. The coordinator will participate in reviewing and aligning the MBChB degree curriculum.

• Sound knowledge of clinical curriculum development and implementation.
• Sound knowledge of clinical curriculum coordination and the compilation of data for continuous quality improvement and accreditation.
• Sound knowledge of learning and teaching methodologies, and assessment practices.
• Sound analytical, communication and organizational skills.
• Sound knowledge of MBChB accreditation processes.
• Sound management skills, including financial management.
• Sound knowledge on research processes at graduate level.
Education
MBChB degree
Relevant Magister''s degree
PhD will be an advantage
A postgraduate qualification in Health Professions Education will be an advantage
Registered
Registered with the HPCSA as an Independent Practitioner.
Experience and skills
A minimum clinical work experience of 5 years as a Medical Specialist or a minimum of 10 years as a Medical Officer in a South African Public Health Facility, which includes a minimum of 3 years extensive relevant work experience in teaching.
Proven experience in MBChB curriculum development, implementation and management.
Management and budgeting experience.
Proven track record of research output and publications.
