Assistant Winemaker

SUMMARY:

POSITION INFO:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Harvesting and processing
• Quality control
• Inventory management
• Maintenance and housekeeping
• Wine samples and administration
• Personnel management
• Chemical purchases
• Wine tasting and external liaison

The ideal candidate has:

• An appropriate tertiary qualification (degree or diploma) in viticulture and oenology
• Outstanding knowledge of wine chemistry
• Experience in the preparation of premium wines
• Technical knowledge of cellar machinery
• Excellent computer skills (working knowledge of WineMS)
• Compliance and ethical audits IPW, BRC and HACCP (recommendation)
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Detail-oriented, results-driven, and cooperative personality
