SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Assistant Wildlife/Reserve Manager to support the management and conservation efforts of our private reserve. The ideal candidate will hold an FGASA Level 1 qualification and be passionate about sustainable wildlife and habitat management.
POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in daily reserve operations, including wildlife monitoring, habitat management, and anti-poaching efforts.
- Support game drives, guiding guests with expert knowledge and ensuring safety and memorable experiences.
- Monitor animal health and welfare, reporting any concerns promptly.
- Help implement conservation and environmental sustainability initiatives.
- Assist with staff training and supervision.
- Maintain accurate records of wildlife, vegetation, and incidents.
- Support compliance with all regulatory and environmental requirements.
Minimum Experience & Requirements
- FGASA Level 1 qualification is mandatory.
- Previous experience in wildlife or reserve management preferred.
- Strong knowledge of indigenous flora and fauna.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in remote and physically demanding environments.
- Valid RSA ID and Driver’s Licence required.
