Assistant Tax Analyst

SUMMARY:
Head Office concern, based in Jhb North, has an exciting opportunity an Assistant Tax Analyst (EE) to provide support and guidance to the Operations with regards to tax.

POSITION INFO:

Successful incumbent will have Matric (Maths - not Maths Literacy), plus a relevant Accounting / Financial degree and an M.Com (Tax), coupled with 3 years accounting and tax experience or completed SAIT Articles.  Key duties include:

SARS Administration

• Submission and completion of monthly VAT returns for holding company and major subsidiaries;
• Submission and completion of Provisional Tax returns;
• Submission and completion of Tax Returns;
• Tax Clearance Certificate applications;
• Entity registration for tax references;
• Compiling the VAT audit file;
• Attending to SARS queries;

 Tax Software system (Thomson Reuters Onesource)

• Uploading trial balances on tax software system (Thomson Reuters)-Group;
• Uploading the trial balance for the sales elimination (Operations);
• Ensure that the Operations deferred tax is in balance and reporting on it;
• Review of tax schedules on Onesource to ensure completeness of information and schedules in balance with Trial Balance;
• Matching of key number (retained earnings, Net Profit or Loss before Taxation, Deferred Tax) between Onesource and Smart;
• Assisting the Operations with queries on Onesource;
• Management of the Tax software system;

 Tax

• Preparation of Learnership schedules for a major subsidiary;
• Review of tax packs (Group);
• Supplying Auditors with tax information during audit;
• Assisting Operations with technical Tax, VAT & Customs queries;
• Prepare the Tax Reconciliation of the Operations for Outlook and half year reporting;
• Customs re-registration process;
• Assisting the Tax Compliance Officer with adhoc queries;

The position would ideally suit a female who has worked on Thomson Reuters Onesource (essential) as well as JDE (highly advantageous).
