Assistant Storeman

Competent individual needed by an established security company. Duties include but are not limited to:
ï‚· Responsible for receiving, storing, assembling, packing and unpacking of goods as well as dispatching goods from the store.
ï‚· Organizing the warehouse in a way that existing inventory is easily & safely accessible and clearly identifiable.
ï‚· Sorts, mark and places materials or items on racks or shelves according to predetermined product code sequence.
ï‚· Draw required stock as per picking slips or delivery notes from the shelves and conveys the order to the counter or packing / inspection area pending delivery.
ï‚· Assemble or disassemble stock items as may be required by customers or for stock holding from time to time.
ï‚· Ensure the accuracy of picked goods by verifying and signing the delivery notes as well as related documents.
ï‚· Ensure that the stock held in the Warehouse is rotated on a FIFO basis.
ï‚· Responsible for inspecting, checking and recording quantities of all stock received against the transfer sheet to ensure that every stock item transferred is present and report any discrepancies identified.
ï‚· Responsible for scheduling deliveries, ensuring that the product is suitably packaged and that the driver meets delivery time constraints.
ï‚· Maintain effective stock control at all times to ensure accurate inventory records.
ï‚· Responsible for Stock counts on a daily basis and take part in stock take.
ï‚· Ensuring that there are adequate security systems in place, including controlled access in & out of the stores, surveillance cameras and alarm systems to enhance the safety and security of the stock.
ï‚· Responsible for monitoring the current stock levels to decide if more should be ordered, as well as advising the Branch Supervisor about potential stock outs and re-ordering levels to maintain minimum and maximum stock thresholds.
ï‚· Receiving in of faulty goods and ensuring timely return / issuing out of repaired goods to and from clients.
ï‚· File copies of waybills, packing slips, transfers and other documents as required.
ï‚· Responsible for reviewing the Driver’s trip sheet on a daily basis to ensure that deliveries are executed and all PODs are signed and accounted for.
ï‚· Ensuring good housekeeping within the warehouse to provide a safe, professional environment.
ï‚· Maintains ISO compliancy.

Requirements:

ï‚· Matric Certificate.
ï‚· One to three years stores or warehouse experience in the security industry.
ï‚· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
ï‚· Must be computer literate.
ï‚· Ability to manage all aspects of the role in a pressurised environment, prioritize and multitask.
ï‚· Sound problem solving, planning and fault finding abilities.
ï‚· Ability to work without close supervision
ï‚· Good mathematical/Accounting skills.
ï‚· Syspro knowledge will be an advantage.
ï‚· Reliable transport to travel to and from work will be an advantage.
ï‚· Drivers license an advantage.
