Game Lodge Assistant Senior Chef (Junior Sous Level)
Salary R11K-R13.5K Live in
Assistant Senior Chef that will be responsible for planning and directing food preparation in the kitchen.
Assist in the delegation of daily responsibilities and duties
Assist in monitoring that all junior chefs are completing the designated working hours
Menu adaption, taste check and rotational issuing of ingredients to ensure maximum freshness
Responsible for the checking of all stock item deliveries against delivery invoices
Final plated dishes are done according to agreed presentation methods and served at the correct temperature to ensure maximum satisfaction.
Team Support and Product Knowledge
Excellent attention to detail, excellent hygiene principles
Excellent time management and self-discipline, interpersonal & problem-solving skills
Must work accurately under pressure
Leadership skills with passion for development and skills transfer
Sound knowledge of food preparation and kitchen hygiene
Good knowledge of creating, implementing, and maintaining written control documents and training manuals
Requirements and Qualifications:
Grade 12 / NQL Level 4 essential
Formal qualification from a reputable culinary institution
Excellent grasp of the English language & communication skills are essential
5 years of Hospitality experience with 1 year as a Assistant Senior chef / Sous Chef experience.
