POSITION INFO:

My client is well known manufacturing conglomerate that specializes in the construction sector is seeking an Assistant Purchasing Manager. They will be responsible for sourcing and engaging reliable suppliers and vendors. Negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms. Reviewing existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility. Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers. Approving purchase orders and organizing and confirming delivery of goods and services. Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.

Minimum qualification requirements and skills:

Bcom in Supply Chain Management/Procurement
5–10 years’ experience in buying and supply chain management
Costing experience is essential
Good understanding of import and export tax / tariffs legislation and associated implications
JD Edwards would be highly advantageous
