JOB DESCRIPTION:

Assistant Manager – Customs (Taxation)

Location: Midrand

This position is limited to BBBEE candidates due to BEE requirements

A renowned advisory firm is looking for a trusted Assistant Manager and business advisor who appreciates a collaborative culture by nurturing team members through mentoring and coaching, knowledge sharing and adapting relevant ideas from previous projects or experiences.

The firm is interested in a specialist with a strong commitment to professional and client service excellence who comes from a consulting background and exudes strong communication, presentation and influencing skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Identify and manage custom and excise opportunities for a portfolio of clients
Compile submissions on customs and excise matters
Compile customs, excise and international trade feasibility studies on tariff and non-tariff barriers
Ensure that all tariff and valuation applications comply with the relevant legislation and guidelines
Liaison with clients and the relevant government department regarding the applications and submissions

Essential Experience and Qualifications:

A completed Bachelor of Commerce degree with accounting as major or a similar legal degree
Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills
A minimum of 3 years’ working experience in the customs and excise field required
Strong writing skills
