SUMMARY:
A Luxury Big 5 Game Lodge in the Pilanesberg region is seeking an experienced and hands-on Assistant Lodge Manager with a strong Food & Beverage background to join the management team.
This role is ideal for a hospitality professional who thrives in guest-facing operations and is passionate about service excellence. The successful candidate will lead the Food & Beverage department while supporting overall lodge operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and maintaining the highest hospitality standards.
The position is highly operational, with approximately 75% of the role spent on the floor overseeing service delivery, guest interaction, and staff management, and 25% focused on administration and reporting.

REQUIREMENT:
- RSA ID and legal residence essential
- Previous experience as an Assistant Lodge Manager, F&B Manager, or similar senior hospitality role
- Strong Food & Beverage management experience essential
- Experience within a luxury lodge, hotel, or hospitality environment preferred
- Excellent guest relations and hosting skills
- Strong leadership and team management ability
- Experience managing restaurant, bar, and service operations
- Good understanding of stock control, purchasing, and cost management
- Strong administration and reporting skills
- Ability to train, mentor, and develop staff
- Professional, hands-on, and service-driven approach
- Ability to work under pressure in a high-end hospitality environment
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Lead and manage the Food & Beverage department
- Ensure exceptional guest experiences and service delivery standards
- Oversee restaurant, bar, and dining operations
- Support the Head Chef and ensure seamless coordination between kitchen and service teams
- Train, mentor, and supervise F&B staff
- Monitor stock control, purchasing, and cost management processes
- Maintain high standards of service, presentation, and guest satisfaction
- Assist with overall lodge operations and management duties
- Handle guest feedback, requests, and complaints professionally
- Conduct regular service inspections and implement continuous improvements
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, health, safety, and operational standards
- Assist with administration, reporting, and departmental planning
