Assistant Junior Data Analyst (12 month contract)

SUMMARY:
Our client a solar energy state owned entity is looking to employ an assistant junior data analyst on a 12 month contract basis in Sandton.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements
▪ Minimum of a National Diploma certificate (NQF 6) in any of engineering or
environment fields
▪ IT skills towards data analysis and software understanding are a distinct advantage
▪ MS Office fluency

Purpose
The GBS 4 Programme requires 10 junior data collectors to support the collection of energy data across wastewater treatment plants. This temp position will assist with working on data collection for both the Data and Knowledge Management and Smart Grids Programme.

Responsibilities
▪ To support the project team with all municipal wastewater treatment plant data collection requirements on the Energy Efficiency Demand Side Management (EEDSM) project
▪ To train and coordinate new field personnel on data collection within a municipal wastewater treatment plants
▪ To perform daily data collection and basic analysis activities as required
▪ To conduct energy assessments or surveys of the targeted municipal facilities
▪ To keep record of all collected data and ensure data is secure and retrievable
▪ To liaise with relevant officials in sourcing information that relates to the operation of the facilities (e.g. electricity bills, drawings, plans and reports)
▪ To carry out safe practices when working on the facilities
▪ To store and maintain data using a laptop and remote data repositories
▪ To provide adequate reporting to stakeholders as and when required
▪ Produce regular status reports of project activities that include required financial
