The main purpose of this role is to operate the irrigation and fertilization of the farmlands and general assistance on the operations of the farm and nursery)

Overview:

• Irrigation operation (irrigation includes all maintenance of pipes, drippers and equipment used for irrigation on the farm)
• Transporting and managing material
• Oversee workers/operations

Responsibilities:

• Maintain high occupational safety standards (Zero IOD’s)
• Maintain high work standards in a safe working environment.
• Maintain farmlands as specified by Manager.
• Irrigating of farmlands.
• Monthly fertilization of farmlands and application of drip applied chemicals.
• Continuous monitoring and maintenance of irrigation equipment.
• Compile daily irrigation and fertilization checklists.
• Support and act as backup for Nursery/Farm Manager.
• Transporting and weighing in of Raw Material.
• General assistance in tasks on farm and monitoring and managing workers.
• Monitoring and reporting on the health of plants.
• Any other management task that may be reasonably requested.
• Bi-weekly stand-in weekend duty in Nursery.
• Promote discipline and responsibility to the workforce.
• Promote a culture of mutual respect, honesty, and self-discipline.
