POSITION INFO:
A leading organisation within the Manufacturing & Retail sector is seeking an Assistant Finance Manager who can take full ownership of core finance processes, drive discipline, and bring stability and structure to a busy finance function.
Based in Edenvale, this role is perfect for someone with a BCom and SAICA / SAIPA / CIMA (preferred) plus 3–5 years’ experience in a high-volume finance environment.
You’ll lead a team of 8–10, oversee GL processing to trial balance, manage month-end audits, control debtors and creditors workflows, and strengthen reporting accuracy across the business. You’ll play a vital role in a company where daily operational decisions depend on solid financial foundations.

ð Key Responsibilities:

- Manage full GL to trial balance accuracy
- Oversee month-end audits, reporting & compliance processes
- Lead and mentor a team of 8–10 direct reports
- Oversee debtors and creditors processing
- Strengthen internal controls and financial discipline
- Support operational decision-making through accurate reporting
- Drive process improvements, automation and workflow consistency
- Partner with operational, production, and retail teams
- Assist in establishing a robust finance function with efficient turnaround times

ð Job Experience & Skills Required:

- BCom degree — essential
- SAICA / SAIPA / CIMA (preferred)
- 3–5 years’ experience in a finance role
- Experience in Manufacturing or Retail highly beneficial
- Strong GL, trial balance & month-end experience non-negotiable
- Debtors & creditors management exposure
- Leadership experience (8–10 direct reports) essential
- Advanced Excel & ERP systems proficiency
- Structured, analytical, confident communicator
- Able to handle high-volume operations and tight deadlines
- Strong organisational ability & process optimisation mindset
