International Retailer based in CBD is seeking to employ an Assistant Financial Accountant to join their busy and diverse team
 
To ensure the Accounts Payable function is managed efficiently by ensuring all invoices, employee expense claims and credit card purchases are properly processed onto SAP, cost allocated to the correct general ledger expense accounts and payments paid on time.
Finance processes & procedures are effectively managed for our Retail business sector
 
Key Responsibilities
 

• Build and maintain sound business relationship with:
  • Fellow Finance Team (Credit Control, Accounting and Finance Manager)
  • Other departments and senior management; and
  • 3rd Parties (SARS, auditors, consultants).
  • Process all approved (by management or managers)

-          Vendor invoices (Assigned vendors)
-          Credit Card expenses
to the correct general ledger expense accounts, cost centers, accounting period and vendor.

• Ensure correct authorization level is applied to all invoices, employee expense

claims and credit card expenses.

• Ensure vendor invoices and employee expenses are paid on time in accordance with vendor payment terms and payment run dates.
• Assist at interim and year-end audit in accounts payable and operational expenditure.
• Ensure all credit card expenses are valid and process to correct general ledger expense accounts and cost centers.
• Clear outgoing and incoming bank clearing accounts on a weekly basis.
• Assist CFO, Finance Manager, Accountant, Supply Chain Manager, and Planner on a daily basis with any ad-hoc work that comes up
• Post prepayment expenses and prepare a monthly prepayments schedule.
• Recharge of overheads to applicable cost centers.
• Prepare ad-hoc manual and retail invoices.
• Ensure daily MICROS in store cash-up and end of day are done timeously and accurately.
• Weekly reconciling of MICROS actual banking to HSBC.
• Upload of HSBC Bank Statements into SAP.
• Cash collection administration.
• Model the financial impact of initiatives and make appropriate recommendations.
• Ensure SAP NNTS (Net Net Trade Sales) matches MICROS NNTS (Net Net Trade Sales) at all times.
• Retail Turnover Certificates – Preparation and Send out.
• Setup cash collection with the appropriate vendor for new retail store – If applicable
• Take full ownership of the following accounting functions:
  • Fixed assets.
  • Packaging material.
  • Monthly international IT charges.
  • Prepare a monthly CAPEX report.
  • Assist the Finance Manager in forecasting, budgeting and month-end reporting process and any other ad-hoc requests in line with business requirements.
  • Update employee traffic fines report.

 
Skills and Competencies required
 

• 2 years’ experience in Financial Accounting environment
  • BS diploma or degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Highly numerate with excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Previous experience gained within International FMCG environment advantageous

• Strong MS (Outlook, Excel, Word) skills
• SAP experience considered to be a distinctive advantage
