JOB DESCRIPTION:

Assistant Bookkeeper (JB2423)
Centurion, Gauteng (This is an office-based position)
R18 000 – R20 000 CTC per month
Duration: Temporary – 6 – 8 weeks
Application closing date: 25 October 2022

Overview
Well established Conveyancing Attorney firm requires the assistance of an Assistant Bookkeeper with previous experience dealing with trust and investment accounts and payments.

Minimum Requirements:
Completed grade 12
2 or more years’ experience in a similar role within a legal environment
Finance related tertiary qualification/ certificate would be advantageous

Duties and Responsibilities:
Trust Accounts:
Receipt allocations (Trust Cash Book)
Payments – EFT’s (Full Banking Custodian)
POP’s
Process Trust Journals
Trust Bank Reconciliations
Post and allocate Law Society Interest and Bank Charges (LPC)
Assist with Deeds Office Levies and ensure that same is recovered
Assist with Unallocated Trust funds
Assist
with invoicing/billing and reversals/credit notes.
Open MAT numbers on Ghost Practice and ensuring that the FICA is done correctly
Assist with bank verification processes

Investments:
Accurately capture relevant date on Bank and Accounting System
Payments & Receipts thereof
Issue guarantees
Monitor and verify guarantees whilst ensuring due diligence for audit purposes
Ensure that all required procedures are followed at times
Document management and ensure that all records are kept and easily retrievable for banks and audits
Post and process monthly interest to ensure that accounting records correspond with banking accounts for investments at moth end
