Assistant Accountant/Bookkeeper

SUMMARY:
Our client in the manufacturing sector based in Port Elizabeth/Gqeberha seeks to employ an Assistant Accountant/Bookkeeper to join their finance team.

POSITION INFO:
Duties:

· Cash management including bank reconciliations and weekly cash forecasting
· Petty cash management and monthly reconciliation
· Maintain exchange rates loaded on ERP system
· Cashbook supplier reconciliations and payments
· Facilitate employee expense claims and reimbursements
· Facilitate employee stationary management
· Assist with fixed asset management including the review of CapEx requests and fixed asset register workbooks
· Monthly accruals
· Master data management including business partners on ERP system and suppliers on banking platform
· Balance sheet reconciliations and analytics ensuring that variances are explained or resolved timeously
· Assists with all financial controls and procedures within the financial accounting function
· Assist and respond to queries from other departments timeously and effectively
· Assist with developing and maintaining key internal controls
· Perform an active role in implementing Business System improvements
· Assists company''s auditors with annual financial audit
· Perform other duties as deemed necessary and requested by the Financial Accountant
· Communicates effectively with other workers to direct personal workflow
· Cleans and maintains an orderly work area

Requirements:

· Post matric qualification (diploma or at least NQF level 5) in accounting
· Accounting experience 3 years
· MS Office experience (MS Excel – at least intermediate level)
· ERP integrated business system experience
