POSITION INFO:

Based in Cape Town, my client is seeking a motivated and detail-driven Assistant Accountant to join their tight-knit, creative team. This role requires someone who is highly organised, confident with numbers, and able to manage the full accounting cycle up to trial balance. If you're a self-starter with strong people skills and a passion for both accuracy and teamwork, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Responsibilities:

• Data capturing: Pastel processing of all transactions to the Trial Balance stage
• Send out of Proof of Payments
• Allocate payments to budgets
• Keep proper record keeping on the server
• Maintain project budget recons and reconciliations to Pastel
• Assist with client contracts and supplier agreements
• Maintain supplier, client and customer databases
• Assist PA with day-to-day office administration requirements, when required
• Manage credit card processing (receiving of slips and gathering information for allocations)
• Manage system enhancements and implementation
• Ad hoc requirements expected of an Accountant as and when required

Requirements:

• Full-time in office
• Strong MS Excel skills required for budget management
• High attention to detail crucial, especially when working with financial data
• Ability to work independently and maintain workflow during absences
