POSITION INFO:

Job Description:
As an Assistant Accountant, your duties and responsibilities include the following:
Assist in the preparation and maintenance of accurate financial records in accordance with international accounting standards and company policies
Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded in a timely and accurate manner
Reconcile accounts, including bank statements, creditor/debtor balances, and general ledger accounts
Prepare and process invoices, ensuring compliance with company policies and payment terms
Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for management review
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and efficient financial operations across various departments
Support the preparation of tax returns and other statutory filings, adhering to local and international regulations
Monitor and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting procedures, identifying areas for improvement
Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, providing necessary financial data and analysis
Manage and resolve financial discrepancies, escalating issues when necessary to senior finance personnel
Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time
Engage in regular communication with international colleagues to support global financial operations and share best practices
 
Skills & Experience:
3-5 years of experience in a similar role
Advanced Excel skills
Excellent communication skills

Qualification:
Relevant Finance/Accounting degree/diploma
Grade 12 (Matric)
