Our client, an established Accounting firm requires the support and services of an efficient and conscientious Assistant Accountant | Finance Administrator.

One would describe you as being a self-motivated, organised and dependable individual who has solid communication skills and a good understanding of accounting processes and systems.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Client liaison, answering of phone and e-mail communication
• Collecting of information from clients for upkeep and capturing of client data/transactions for audit
• Ensure MS Excel summary reports are kept updated for cash transactions
• Capturing/allocating relevant information to Pastel or Sage Accounting in Cloud for preparation of management reports and completion of VAT returns
• Ensure excel summary reports are kept updated for cash transactions
• Completion of Trial Balance in preparation for management reports and financial statements to be drafted
• Follow up on outstanding invoices and any related documentation for the audit file
• Updating of accounting system and allocating transactions in preparation for the drafting of financial records and preparation of tax and VAT returns
• Upkeep of all relevant filing

Qualification and Experience Required:

• Matric (ideally with Accounting as a subject)
• Relevant Finance qualification would be advantageous
• Minimum 3-5 years finance | accounting administration experience gained (up to Trial balance)
• Exposure gained within an accounting practice or related would be a positive!
• Computer literate with MS Excel and Cloud SAGE | Cloud Pastel
• Good understanding and working knowledge of Accounting processes, systems and VAT requirements
• Own reliable transport
