Job Duties:
- Assist the lodge manager in overseeing the daily operations of the lodge - Game Drives and Bush walks for guests - Provide informative and engaging commentary on the local flora and fauna - Ensure guest safety and adherence to Reserve rules and regulations - Assist with lodge runnings when Lodge manager is on leave - Help with guest check-ins, check-outs, and general guest relations - Assist in managing lodge staff and delegating tasks effectively
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in the hospitality or tourism industry - Excellent communication and customer service skills - Ability to work well in a team and independently - Proficiency in English (additional languages a plus) - Valid driver's licence
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required - Additional qualifications in hospitality or tourism management preferred
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience - Experience in guiding bush walks and Game Drives - need to have spent time in a management Role.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong knowledge of local wildlife, plants, and ecosystems - First aid certification preferred - Excellent organisational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in hospitality, tourism, or related field - Previous experience in lodge management
Working Conditions:
- Willingness to work long hours and weekends as needed - Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions - Physical fitness required for leading nature walks and assisting with lodge maintenance
