Artisan Supervisor

Minimum Requirements:

• Qualified artisan (Machinist, Toolmaker, Fitter and Turner) (Red Seal certificate)
• 3 to 5 years’ experience in the role of supervisor/Foreman
• Decisive individual with initiative, analytical ability, and creative thinking
• Able to edit programs on CNC machines
• Management of interpersonal relations and effective communication
• Able to apply principles of workplace discipline
• Be assertive and persuasive
• Able to accurately interpret technical drawings and sketches
• Good knowledge of quality management systems, especially ISO 9001

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Effective control of production area within the organisation
• Ensuring manufacturing of components is done within standard times
• Plan, coordinate and control resources
• Implement policies and procedures
• Implement continuous improvement processes
• Manage performance of subordinates
• Edit and change programs on CNC machines
• Monitor performance of machines and attend to defects
• Do regular inspections on processes to ensure quality standards are maintained
• Do final inspections on manufactured components
• Liaise with Operations Manager to ensure production plan/schedule is effectively executed
• Compliance with all health and safety rules and regulations
