Southern Oil Pty Ltd, an established company and market leader in the manufacturing of Canola oil and related products in the retail, food services, and bulk sectors, has the following exciting career opportunity in Swellendam.

POSITION INFO:

Short Summary:

The main responsibility of this position is to assist the Artisans regarding maintenance, manufacturing, projects, and shutdowns.

Responsibilities:

• To assist the Artisan with his duties/ responsibilities.
• To assist in cleaning the Plant and Workshop.
• Safe working practices according to the Health and Safety Regulations.
• General duties as allocated by the Maintenance supervisor.
• Responsible for work including plant maintenance, preventative maintenance, projects, and shutdowns.
• To assist with Standby duties according to the agreed-upon schedule.

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
• Previous experience in mechanical, maintenance, or manufacturing will be an advantage
• Plant maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment would be an advantage
• Must be able to do general grinding, cutting, and drilling, and work with various hand tools
• Experience in Tig, Arc, and Mig welding will be an advantage
• Must be prepared to work overtime and/ or shifts and standby
