CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

The purpose of this post is to perform Air-conditioning & Refrigeration maintenance and preventative maintenance and services within the section on all NMU campuses in accordance with legislative requirements and NMU policies and procedures.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Perform air-conditioning & refrigeration maintenance and preventative maintenance as well as new air-conditioning & refrigeration installation work on NMU Campuses.
• Perform all required administration duties.
• Work independently as well as in a team and complete all stand-by duty related work.

• Ensure that all the maintenance and new work as well as the workshops comply with the Occupation 

             Health and Safety Act and Regulations.

CORE COMPETENCIES

• Have excellent knowledge of Buildings and Services infrastructure.
• Have excellent knowledge of the Occupation Health and Safety Act and Construction Safety legislation.
• Have good knowledge of supervising personnel.
• Have good knowledge of reading, writing and calculation of technical data.
• Have good knowledge of building plans & specifications.
• Ability to divulge technical data as required.

REQUIREMENTS

In order to be considered for appointment to this post, candidates preferably must possess Technical Matric or N3 and a full apprenticeship with an Air-conditioning & Refrigeration Trade Certificate and 3 years relevant experience. A valid Category B driver’s license is required.
