Area Manager - R25k/month + comm + perks – Northwest - Immediate start – open to all

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our well-established client is looking for an Area Manager, who has sound administrative, planning and organizing skills to join their Northwest team.  You will be reporting to the National Operations and Sales Manager and will be responsible for delivering objectives within the stores, build effective relationships with key role players in the business and lead and motivate individual teams to deliver required results.  You will be focused on driving turnover, ensuring profitability, controlling expenses, managing stock, and delivering high store disciplines and standards.

 

Duties & Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Monitor sales for the designated stores and draft action plans
  • Discuss performing and non-performing stores with the National Operations and Sales Manager.
  • Conduct performance meetings with underperforming store management teams.
  • Assess stores sales performance and identify opportunities to increase sales performance.
  • Present quarterly reviews with clear action plans to deliver to key performance requirements.
  • Ensure all monthly promotions are implemented in stores.
  • Share best practice learnings with other teams and across areas.
  • Regularly improve in-store merchandising and ensure stores maintain presentation standards and disciplines
  • Conduct monthly store visits:
  • Complete the Operations checklist and Banking audits monthly and provide feedback to the store management including updating the Store Visitation book with the relevant feedback and instructions.
  • Follow up, address, and rectify the out of line areas recorded on the Risk audits.
  • Identify prime locations for stores in existing malls and shopping centers and discuss opportunities with National Operations and Sales Manager.
  • Keep abreast of new mall and shopping center developments in your area and notify the National Operations and Sales Manager of possible sites for new stores.
  • Ensure the successful planning, co-ordination and launching of new stores, revamps and relocations.
  • Liaise with Store managers regarding the effective staffing and scheduling of stores, including staffing over peak seasons.
  • Ensure all people management processes are effectively managed.
  • Liaise with Human Resources to identify appropriate methods to recruit new staff
  • Ensure all employees are inducted
  • Ensure all staff understand their role and responsibilities and receive the relevant training.

 

 

Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • qualification in sales management, retail, marketing, business management or related qualification is an advantage.
  • 3+ years’ experience in an Area Manager/Senior Managerial position in a flag ship store, within the fashion/retail environment is required.
  • Must be able to travel.
  • Experience in Fragrances and Cosmetics (advantageous)
  • Valid drivers’ license.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office,
