POSITION INFO:

Applications Engineer – Lubrication Systems – East Rand

Job purpose :

(Including but not limited to):

• Promote and support the company know-how and value proposition in line with strategy, based on customer needs
• Propose technical solutions in co-operation with the sales force
• Design, manage and deliver Bearing arrangements, lubrication systems, condition monitoring systems, Sealing solutions and bundled offerings according to customer requirements

Minimum requirements :

• A formal engineering qualification – BSc. Eng., B.Eng., B.Tech., or NH DEng. – preferably in mechanical, structural, electrical or electronic
• Desirable – Project Management qualification

Minimum experience and knowledge :

• Minimum of 2 – 3 years’ experience in technical support at customer facing level
• Minimum of 2 -3 years’ of product engineering, either Application, Project or Design experience
• Knowledge of engineering draughting and associated management systems
• A systematic, logical and analytical approach to problemsolving and decision-making
• Ability to present findings and recommendation to management via reports and presentations
• Excellent planning, organisational and administrative skills
• Excellent communication and administrative skills – English
• Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with customers at all levels

Desirable :

• Experience working across technologies, i.e. bearings, seals, tribology, CoMo. lubrication systems etc with technical, engineering and commercial knowledge of these fields
• Professional associations and memberships
