SUMMARY:
A well-established fashion retailer is currently in search of an Apparel Buyer with branded wear experience in the retail industry to join their team.
POSITION INFO:
Key Duties and Responsibilities :
- Achieving and exceeding the Company''s margin targets and GP Rands as signed off at the seasonal business plan meetings.
- To deliver the consolidated apparel seasonal merchandise plans, location plans, assortment plans and monthly forecasts to the relevant
stakeholders.
- Developing, influencing and driving seasonal product and purchasing strategy in line with the Company objectives. A focus area will be the management and improvement of stock turns
- To provide accurate and on-time business information, align actions and
manage deviations in order to achieve agreed merchandise objectives.
- To develop and influence cross functional partnerships in all specified key relationships
- Setting a trend and design direction for Apparel on offer
- To develop empower and lead the apparel team by implementing sound people management practices and creating a high-performance culture across Buying & Planning.
- Constantly engaging, negotiating with and influencing the current and new suppliers of branded apparel products to successfully source the appropriate merchandise mix that suits the value proposition and ensuring long term sustainable business relations.
- Determining and managing the merchandise procurement process to ensure on-time delivery as per the agreed Company Critical path dates.
- Ensure that the appropriate product is selected and proposed to maximise sales in support of the agreed marketing, sales and in-store visual merchandising plan
