SUMMARY:
Our client is urgently looking to employ an Animal Hospital Cashier at their organization

JOB DESCRIPTION:


Location: Regents Park, Johannesburg South

Requirements: if you do not meet the requirements your application will not be considered

  • Matric
  • 2-3 Years of experience in a similar role
  • Must be able to work under pressure in a veterinary hospital environment dealing with clients and their animals
  • Must be able to work on a point of sale and hospital software which is not integrated, but also using cash, card machines, and Mediwallet payment systems and receipt books when required
  • Must be COVID-19 vaccinated
Responsibilities:
  • Write up daily banking and ensure the completed deposit book is ready in the morning
  • Ensure deposit books are ordered when 5 blank books are left
  • Do petty cash requests when requested on the correct form and signed by Management
  • Ensuring there is a daily float of R350 and any shortages/excesses are reported to the Hospital Admin/Liaison
  • Ensure payments made for other departments are receipted and the staff member responsible is informed
  • Update the Pastel and Vetmaster database with the client’s details and any changes to the client’s details are made
  • Report any problems on the system to the Hospital Admin/Liaison
  • Ensure the POS buttons have the correct formulas/recipes and change in agreement with Hospital Admin/Liaison
  • Updating and crediting any EFT/cash/card payments made on the POS to the Vetmaster system to the correct client
  • Perform all daily sales on the POS, perform the daily cash-up with the Hospital Admin/Liaison, and print any reports from BOMI as required
  • Performing the almoning interview, completing and updating the almoning form, verifying proof requested for the process, and getting their photograph taken for the hospital security card with the Hospital Admin/Liaison
  • Ensure that the money and receipts brought back from outreach/mobile clinic daily are written correctly and allocated on the POS
  • Ensure that the hospital cards from outreach are loaded onto Vetmaster
  • Queue clients for the hospital noting why they are to be seen and by whom; any possible emergency will be checked first by a veterinary nurse or veterinarian
  • Ensure that admission forms are completed and required costs are paid and noted on POS/Vetmaster
  • Discharge patients ensuring balances are paid, discharge instructions, and dispensed medication is given out
  • Print the daily veterinary report for the switchboard and answer any telephonic calls or e-mailed client queries including any repeat script requests or hospital appointments
  • Complete the filing of admission and almoning forms and scan and file discharge forms or any other paperwork as required
  • Call the Kennel Office to admit stray and unwanted animals
  • Call the Marketing Manager if there are complaints from the public or the inspectors if there are cruelty cases to report
  • Assist with security and access control by controlling the opening/closing of gates, and keys to the morgue side gate, and ensuring all deliveries and contractors first sign into the access control book as per Security Protocol for all suppliers and contractors
