Introduction:
Our client in the aeronautical industry specialises in the production (part 148), service, repair and manufacturing of non-type aircraft. They are looking for an experienced aircraft technician.
Primary Purpose of the Position:
- Performs regular maintenance on aircraft.
- Ensures proper working condition of mechanical systems before flight.
- Develops and maintains records of maintenance, repairs and inspections.
- Inspects engines, wings, propellers, tails, etc to identify cracks, corrosion, or other defects.
- Inspects hoses and lubricates joints and replaces any that show signs of needing repair.
- Use maintenance manuals and specifications to identify correct operations and specifications for replacements or repairs.
- Installs new parts to replace or repair defective parts.
- Ensures proper function of engines and operating systems via a variety of tests and tools.
- Identifies and resolves mechanical problems based on inspections or reports from pilots.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience (Minimum requirements):- Thorough understanding of aircraft parts, systems, and mechanics.
- Thorough understanding of tools and testing methods.
- Previous experience in piston engines, turbo-prop experience (an advantage).
- Detail-oriented with mechanical inclination and a passion for aircraft.
- Ability to learn new skills and methods of repairs.
- Good physical abilities as the job requires lifting, bending, small spaces, manual dexterity and good eyesight.
- Good communication skills.
