Agronomist

SUMMARY:
An international agricultural company, specialising in fertilisers, is seeking a dynamic Agronomist to service their clients by identifying their needs and developing potential solutions, and utilising leading edge technologies, services and/or products to support market and client growth, within the northern parts of South Africa.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have a tertiary qualification in an Agricultural field
• Must have completed a BASOS certification
• At least 4 years’ experience in the agricultural industry, ideally wide crop experience
• Must be willing to travel
• Must be able to work independently

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Providing technical advice to farmers to improve their crops.
• Implementing precision farming practices at farmers to improve their crops and management on the farm.
• Presenting fertiliser and irrigation recommendations and developing programs accordingly.
• Conducting farmer visits, farmers’ days and training.
• Assisting seed growers with production decisions and conducting research trials on nutrition products.
• Performing economical analysis on seed growers'' farming enterprises.

Salary package, including benefits, are highly negotiable depending on experience gained
