SUMMARY:
An established agricultural seed production company is seeking an experience Agronomic Production Advisor to develop and implement product trials, analyse product performance and introduce products to Dealers and Agents with the aim to support sales and marketing strategies.

POSITION INFO:


Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Must have a B Sc. Agric. or B.Agric.  with Agronomy, and/ or Soil Science as major subjects
  • SANSOR/BASOS/AVCASA accreditation will be of great advantage
  • 5 -10 years'' experience in Agriculture and knowledge of good agronomic practices are required
  • Must have a broad technical know-how of crops, products and farming practices
  • Understanding of basic trial design and agronomic crop production are essential
  • Must have a valid Drivers’ license and be willing to travel
  • Above-average communication skills, specifically in English and Afrikaans with the ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders of all levels and experience will be required
  • Must be willing to complete various relevant courses and practical training within a two year period

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing product demonstrations in field and region to support overall sales and marketing strategy.
  • Investigating, understanding, capturing and communicating aspects of key crop production.
  • Implementing regional business strategies and plans consistent with overall marketing strategy.
  • Implementing agreed demonstrations and infield marketing trials and activities to influence and support sales.
  • Recording and collating information and data to support all product performance and support Marketing with relevant data for development of promotional marketing material.
  • Identifying key crop, product and market opportunities and threats.
  • Developing the competence, motivation and commitment of Dealers and Agents through effective training, promotion and sales support aids.
  • Keeping abreast of market, trade and competitor activity in order to revise strategies to meet changing requirements.
  • Promoting and introducing products.
  • Creating demand for the comprehensive range of seed.
  • Establishing demo trials on field days.
  • Engaging/collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Gathering market intelligence and crop production information.

Salary package, including benefits, are highly negotiable depending on experience gained
