Afrikaans Teacher Grade 7 - 12

SUMMARY:

Our client is a bilingual German school based in the heart of Cape Town with about 930 learners from Grade 1 – 12, thus primary and high school, which offers South African and European University Entrance Qualifications and is one of 140 official German schools abroad, subsidized by the German Government.

They are looking to employ a permanent Teacher for the subject of Afrikaans for Grade 7 – 12 as of January 2022.

At the School, mother-tongue learners are taught from Grades 1 – 12 as well as English-speaking learners from Grades 5 – 12 respectively.  

Our learners are educated by South African and German teachers to become independent and critical thinkers, who are able to take responsibility for themselves and others.  We are a modern and well-equipped international school with a diverse student and teacher body and offers Afrikaans as First Additional language from Grade 7 to 12.

POSITION INFO:

We are looking for a passionate language teacher who:

• has a relevant teaching degree (BEd.; BA + PGCE, Master)
• is SACE registered
• has minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in the subject of Afrikaans for Grade 7 onwards
• IEB experience is advantageous
• teaches a relevant second subject (LO, History, English or Science)
• has a passion for teaching and very good references
• has experience with modern technology (Teams, Smartboard, Outlook, iPads, etc.)
• has to be a South African citizen and/or permanent residence holder
