POSITION INFO:

Advocacy Advisor - Umhlanga Durban - (Johannesburg is Negotiable) – Market Related

Experience & Knowledge:
Understands the levers to pull in in influencing external stakeholders on our business priorities
The ability to build strong networks and alliances both internally and externally
An understanding of what is required to deliver advocacy strategies on complex themes such as energy, renewables, sustainability
Worked in political, civil society, consulting or business environment in a public affair, government relations or advocacy function with experience in Sustainability/ESG themes

Key Performances:
Provide advocacy insight to a range of sustainability priorities
Provide support on policy and research development
To work with a range of experts on current and future policy and regulatory issues particular focus on:
o Sustainability and ESG
o Health and Obesity
o Energy and renewables
Ability to absorb complex information and provide straightforward analysis to help guide advocacy approach and tactics to achieve business goals
Develop the skills to draft reports, briefing papers and formal submissions for annual reporting processes, consultations and inquiries connected to priority areas.
Develop advocacy expertise, networks and relationships with politicians, commercial contacts, policymakers, think tanks and NGOs
Support the Head of Advocacy in, and develop the skills to, advise the business on new opportunities and challenges in the external political or regulatory environment
Build the reputation and credibility of company through engagement and representation in industry forums, associations and coalitions
