SUMMARY:
Merchandiser's Assistant required to join a well-established and reputable Homeware Supplier based in Durban. Must be super organised with impeccable admin skills.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

New Season Developments
  • Merchandiser to mail suppliers for newness & quotes.
  • Assistant to chase for quotes everyday until received.
  • Assistant to check all required info, prices and pictures are on quotes.
  • Assistant to file quotes on the server in the correct folders.
  • Assistant to prepare files.
  • Assistant to print quotes & file in department by supplier.
  • Assistant to do pictures.
  • Merchandiser to do quotes / negotiate into buyers’ price points & MOQ’s & ensure we present good product into their correct price points.
Sampling
  • Assistant to collate selected sample list from each factory with any changes.
  • Merchandiser to mail each factory the sample list.
  • Assistant to chase samples everyday until samples arrive.
  • Arranging DHL collection / DHL quotes.
  • Chasing DHL / TNT for samples everyday until they arrive.
  • Managing the payment of samples.
  • Sticker samples.
  • Take pictures.
  • File pictures on the server under correct folders.
  • Collate sample list for the buyer per factory.
  • Merchandiser to email this to the buyers.
Buy plans & Orders
  • When buy plans come through, Assistant to pull this info from each of the quotes to prepare the buy plan with all info for ordering – creating a file for the new season.
  • Merchandiser to push back on factories if need be & communicate with buyers on packaging price etc.
  • Orders come through & merchandiser checks against the buy plan.
  • Assistant to tab & prepare orders, make a list of amendments for merchandiser to send to buyers.
Amendments
  • Assistant to manage amendments coming through & what still needs to be amended, updating the list for the merchandiser.
  • Merchandiser to follow up with buyers for outstanding amendments.
General
  • Weekly status meeting with Merchandiser to go through list of chasers and provide update on status and potential issues etc.
  • General administrative assistance to the Merchandiser in order to ensure effective and organised management of the account(s).
