Accounts Clerk (Debtors and Creditors)

POSITION INFO:

Our prominent client, based in Port Elizabeth, is looking for an Accounts Clerk to manage the company’s debtors and creditors functions.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ relevant experience, with solid Pastel Evolution knowledge.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• At least 3 years’ experience in Debtors and Creditors.
• Pastel Evolution experience.
• The ability to be firm, yet professional and friendly at all times.
• Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to use initiative and work independently.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Debtors:

• Deal with credit applications in a timeous manner.
• Opening of new accounts and ensuring that only approved customers are loaded and that their details are captured correctly.
• Invoicing of all customers.
• Monitor and control the collection of money due from debtors and ensure that all outstanding invoices are paid on time.
• Process debtor payments daily.
• Allocation of receipts to paid invoices.
• Perform reconciliations for customer accounts.
• Credit Notes.
• Manage all Debtors relations.
• Handle all customer queries on a daily basis.

Creditors:

• Complete and submit credit applications and liaise with suppliers.
• Ensure that all invoices are valid tax invoices.
• Ensure that suppliers are paid on time.
• Loading of all creditors’ payments.
• Do supplier reconciliations.
• Liaise with suppliers and provide remittances and reconciliations.
• Process monthly discounts.
• Creditors age analysis review and follow up.
• Resolve any creditors queries.

General:

• Various month-end reporting responsibilities.
• File accounts documents.
• Other tasks as assigned.
