Accounts Clerk

Young commodities trading company specialising in the procurement, sale and distribution of primarily chemical reagents and commodities to the mining environment throughout Africa., requires Accounts Clerk.

Purpose of the Job
Act in the capacity of Accounts Clerk within the Finance department and to perform any supporting duties that are reasonably ancillary thereto.

Candidate must have:

- Excellent French and English
- ACCA study in progress/any other accounting certificate/diploma
- Proficient in Excel and other MS office tools and SAP accounting
- Between 2-5 years of experience in accounting department
- Have experience in managing and maintaining administrative duties

Outputs to be delivered by this position
1 Maintain Documentation
- Keep electronic copies of all transactional paperwork (eg: invoices,
statements, pods, etc)
- Save adequately on designated folders on the server
- Filing of all documents promptly.
- Maintain file for ease of auditing
2 Processing of Customer and supplier invoices on SAP and on clients’ systems where requested
- Sending out customer invoices and statements and following up on outstanding accounts.
- Data entry on accounting software
- Perform prepayments and accruals entries and their respective timely reversals
- Reconciling Supplier and customer accounts.
- Maintain petty cash records
- Resolving queries promptly.
- Run Vat reports and reconcile before submitting to Accountant.
- Adhoc reconciliations.
- Capturing payments on AfrAsia.
- Reconciling open GRPOs.
- Ensuring Supplier invoices are Vat compliant.
- Completing credit applications.
- Updating BP age analysis
- Ensuring Statutory data is kept current
- Customers and suppliers onboarding
- Assist the finance manager in other cognate duties
5 Supporting Role - Any ad-hoc tasks as required by the Finance Department on a day-today basis
