Great opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join a company in the Education sector. This role is based in the Southern Suburbs, Cape Town.

The main purpose of this roll is to produce the payroll from timesheet data and issue sales invoices to clients, resolving any queries in a timely manner to promote healthy cashflow.

This role is suited to a university graduate with 1-2 years' experience in bookkeeping or accounting, specifically Accounts Receivables. The person must be detail orientated, willing to learn new systems, work well in a small team, and have good knowledge of MS Excel and Sage.

Some duties include:

Exporting bulk timesheet data from the system to Excel, and produce highly accurate payroll schedules
Create bulk client invoices from timesheet data and prepare invoices for submission
Send invoices alongside corresponding timesheets to clients
Investigate and resolve any queries raised by clients, liaising with the Office Administrator or Account Managers where required – this may include attending client meetings
Assisting with credit control functions such as sending client statements and following up on outstanding queries
Processing card payments where required
Producing Excel reports and sending them to the FD
Providing cover for core functions when other staff are on leave or when additional help is needed
