Accountant/Bookkeeper - Montague Gardens, Cape Town

SUMMARY:
Calling all Accountants / Bookkeepers with experience in a Production / Manufacturing Environment

POSITION INFO:

My client,  a medium sized manufacturing company located in Montague Gardens near Sable Square and Canal Walk needs a mature, competent and experienced Accountant/ Bookkeeper to join their team.

Requirements:

Pastel Partner experience

Fully Computer literate in all Microsoft Applications

Experience in production/manufacturing environment will be a huge advantage but not critical

Payroll administration PAYE, UIF, SDL, ETI, pension contribution.

Pastel payroll experience an advantage 

At least 10 years applicable experience

SA Citizens only

Must be Criminal Clear

Must reside in the Greater Cape Town Area

Duties (not limited to)

Time recording system administration

Staff loans

Monthly management accounts preparation and analysis of variances

Fixed asset register maintenance including monthly depreciation processing

Maintenance of finance lease records and reconciliation monthly with Bank

Maintenance of legal document register (leases, loans)

Petty cash control and disbursement

Controlling and processing occasional cash/credit card sales

Annual financial statement and audit file preparation

Regulatory

UIF returns UI-19

Workmen’s Compensation annual returns

VAT returns bi-monthly

EMP monthly returns EMP201 and annual EMP501

Online pension fund monthly submissions

Debtors control, statements and CGI declarations

Suppliers control, coordinating with Procurement and preparation of monthly payments file

Budget preparation

Inter-company transaction processing, reconciliation of inter-co accounts

Ad hoc processing of customer and supplier transactions, ie assisting when Sales & Procurement are unavailable

Computer literacy general: Word, Excel, Microsoft Office

Supervising and maintaining filing of records

Direct reporting to  one of the two directors, who is a CA(SA) and thus gives direct assistance and guidance on accounting issues. He is also responsible for the more technical matters such as income tax returns and finalising annual financial statements.
