POSITION INFO:

EE Position

Key Reponsibilities

The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the financial accounting function in accordance with sound accounting practices, company policy and legislative requirements.

Financial Management/Reporting

• Develop and maintain financial accounting processes and procedure
• Implement and maintain sound internal control
• Identify financial accounting risks and develop and implement mitigating strategies
• Attend to audit queries
• Prepare statutory returns (i.e. VAT
• Verify the General Ledger, accruals and control account
• Review local reconciliations before payments can be mad
• Review Creditors on a monthly basis
• Prepare financial month-end reports

 Budgeting

• Establish and maintain a budgeting system and assist with setting up the planning parameter
• Manage and control the annual planning and budgeting process
• Prepare the budget

 Financial administration

• Control commitments against budget

 Leadership

• Manage the designated area within time and budget
• Identify and timeously address problems and opportunities
• Provide direction in respect of decision making
• Facilitate and resolve conflicting issues or requirements
• Ensure compliance with relevant legal and statutory requirements and internationally accepted environmental, health, safety and quality standards

Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification, i.e. (BCom Accounting and/or Management Accounting)
• Honours Degree / Articles strongly recommended
• 5 years'''' relevant financial experience / Agricultural industry will be an advantage
• Experience with Syspro and Excel
• Excellent administration skills
• Strong analytical/problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to perform under pressure
• Good problem-solving skills
• Good time-management skills
• Good conflict management skills
• Strong computer literacy
• Knowledge of General Accounting Principles (GAAP) / relevant legislation / Financial Reporting (IFRS) / Budgeting processing / Financial Systems
• Understanding financial accounting and treasury
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English is a requirement
