POSITION INFO:

A well-established organisation within the hospitality industry is seeking an experienced Accountant / Financial Manager to take ownership of the financial function and provide financial support to the management team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who understands the fast-paced nature of hospitality and has the commercial insight to manage finances while supporting the overall performance of the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee the full accounting and financial function
Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
Manage budgets, forecasts and cash flow
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable
Manage reconciliations, general ledger and month-end processes
Monitor revenue, expenditure and profitability
Analyse financial performance and provide insights to management
Maintain strong financial controls and accurate financial records
Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
Liaise with auditors, SARS, suppliers and other external stakeholders
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and cost efficiencies
Provide financial guidance and support to senior management
Assist with strategic financial planning and decision-making

REQUIREMENTS

Relevant B.Com Accounting, B.Compt or equivalent qualification
Minimum 3–5 years' experience in an accounting or financial management role
Previous hospitality experience will be highly advantageous
Strong accounting and financial reporting knowledge
Experience with budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management
Strong MS Excel skills and experience with accounting/ERP systems
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and take ownership of the finance function
Commercially astute, hands-on and solutions-driven
