Large Family owned Company in the independent Electrical Wholesale Arena is looking to employ an Accountant for their head office operation in Johannesburg (East end of the city precinct).

POSITION INFO:

Job Description:

Large Family owned Company in the independent Electrical Wholesale Arena is looking to employ an Accountant for their head office operation in Johannesburg (East end of the city precinct).

The business is in Warehousing and Distribution of all electrical products (±8000 items) and Suppliers to all sectors of the economy (i.e. electricians, engineers, industry, commercial and others).

Person will accept the position as their overall responsibility to ensure all financial and admin aspects of the business are well controlled and done timeously …the buck stops at this position.

Responsibilities:

Full accounting functions of a Company – preferably in the Wholesaling Industry (buying and selling).
Involved in Managing and controlling:
Debtors Department – High Book Value (500 actual accounts with 6 staff).
Creditors Department – High Book Value (100 Suppliers with 3 staff).
Stock Control (±8000 items and +12 staff).
Human Resources and Labour Relations all aspects have +50 staff in total.
Well experienced and competent in handling employees and therefore fully conversant with labour relation matters.

General issues:

Motor vehicle control, maintenance and repairs, insurances, secretarial and all other admin aspects normal in running a Company.
Month and year end financial accounts and related reports and reconciliations.
Responsible for all the statutory reports and returns and timeous submission of such.

Requirements:

Matric.
Experience in Finance/Accounting.
Computer package – SYSPRO and SAGE Pastel.
