Accountant / Bookkeeper for a Cape Town based scaffolding solutions company

POSITION INFO:

A diverse role working for a Cape Town  based scaffolding solutions company -  tailored to diverse projects, spanning commercial and residential installations. Comprehensive services, including expert scaffolding hire and seamless installation. This position requires a dynamic individual who can effectively balance accounts and stock control responsibilities while managing additional duties. The ideal candidate will possess a high level of organization, proficiency in relevant software, and excellent interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities/Duties: 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all aspects of bookkeeping process, including journal entries, invoicing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, petty cash, etc

• Experienced bookkeeper to trial balance

• Debtor invoicing and reconciliations.

• Review and verify the financial transactions and entries recorded in the accounting system, reconcile accounts and transactions, and resolve any discrepancies or errors

• Stock keeping utilizing Excel

• Manage debtors / creditors

• Control stock, particularly on the hire-only side

Additional Duties:

• Occasionally serve as a receptionist, welcoming customers

• Communicate with clients via phone, informing them of  stock information and truck dispatches

• Coordinate and track deliveries through diarizing and follow-up

• Engage in communication via WhatsApp, participating in 3 work groups to track jobs

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in finance, or bookkeeping 

• Proficient in MS Suite, particularly Excel

• Experience with Pastel software

• Excellent organizational skills

• Demonstrated common sense approach to problem-solving

• Efficient in diarizing deliveries and follow-ups

• Strong communication skills, especially on WhatsApp

• Professional phone manners

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively

• High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure

• Matric

-This is an office based job, working hours 8-5 with no overtime or weekend work necessary.

Remuneration: R18-20K/month (dependant on experience) + company phone + in-house medical scheme
