Accountant - Articles complete

SUMMARY:
Umhlanga. BCom Accounting Degree, completed Articles, strong MS Excel and leadership skills coupled with a sound technical knowledge of accounting principles, including Management Accounts is required for this challenging role. Will suit high performing candidate capable of handling a busy workload whilst managing a team of bookkeepers.

POSITION INFO:

Reporting to the Finance Manager of your responsibilities will include:

• Oversee review of work the Bookkeepers and Creditors Clerk.
• Review of bank reconciliations.
• Ability to compute and reconcile reconciliations of key accounts.
• Preparation of monthly GL reconciliations.
• Ensure accuracy of all books of account including, general ledger, debtors, creditors, fixed assets etc.
• Review of creditors reconciliations.
• Finalisation of monthly trial balances including journals and reconciliations.
• Management accounts preparation and facilitation of process to meet timeline.
• Document reasons for monthly income statement analytics.
• Compliance with statutory and regulatory compliance – VAT, EMP, IFRS etc.
• Preparation and submission of Vat returns together with turnover and expenditure reconciliations.
• Assisting in month-end and year-end closing.
• Processing of Journal entries.
• Monthly group loan balancing.
• Preparation and Management of year end audits/reviews.
• Payroll input onto Sage VIP. Submission of EMP 201, Emp 501, WC etc.
• Assisting Finance Manager with various task and analysis.  
• Ad-hoc task or any other task requirement by management.

Minimum Requirements:

• BCom Degree or higher
• Articles - SAICA or SAIPA - commercial experience not essential
• Microsoft Excel Advanced experience
• Property experience an advantage
• MDA experience an advantage
